I began playing guitar not quite 6 years ago, the same year I got married... that's how I remember! I pretty much started writing my own songs then, cuz it was easier to me than learning how to play someone else's songs. I haven't really stopped since. I'm never sure how to describe my musical style when people ask so I usually just list off people who I look up to as musicians, and some of those people would be....Jewel (of course, I am a girl with a guitar), Neil Young, Patty Griffin, Eva Cassidy, Shawn Colvin, Counting Crows, John Frusciante, Rocky Votolato, Tom Petty, my guitar teacher Ben, and on and on and on.
I just released my first independent cd, Last One Standing, in August.  It was recorded with Mark Rubel of Pogo Studio in Champaign, IL.
